Have a little time and patience? Then come meet Iris. She is a beautiful calico looking for her forever home. Iris should be an only cat as other cats tend to beat her up. She is somewhat shy and likes plenty of alone time, but likes people in her own way. She’s not always in the mood for a petting and will let you know with a bat of the paw or a short hiss, but even in these moods she enjoys company and will purr loudly to the sound of your voice. She is secretly a playful cat who waits for the cover of dark to play with her toys, batting pens around when no toys are to be found. She will even make you smile if you watch her eat as she fishes bits of wet food out of the dish and puts them on the ground, sometimes batting them around before eating them. She is FIV positive (which is NOT a death sentence) and due to a gum infection had to have all her teeth removed. All in all Iris is a good-natured cat who has met with some hard times.

I want to sponsor Iris!

13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose.

We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular cat
