About Ras | |
|
|
Ras is a short-hair brown mackerel tabby with white socks. He weighs 13 pounds. Before being rescued, Ras lived the outdoor life, being a friendly neighborhood cat in the Willow Glen area. He was rescued in August of 2022 to become an indoor-only cat and has loved every second of it. He is a super-loving cat that greets you at the door with his tail high to only later flip on his back to expose his belly and give you the cutest look. His favorite toys are catnip-filled mice, wand toys with birds attached, and plastic springs. He loves cardboard boxes, where he stores all his toys after playing with them.
Ras is calm and friendly with strangers, approaching them and rubbing his cheeks along their legs. Ras has been the only cat inside the home, so we have no direct information on how he behaves with other cats. However, given his calm nature and friendliness, it’s not a stretch to assume that he is welcoming to other cats.
Ras's favorite things to do during the evenings are to cuddle with you, make biscuits on your chest, and be petted on the cheeks and forehead. Ras is a love bug! You can pick up Ras with no problem as he poses no resistance and shows no sign of being uncomfortable. You can also belly rub Ras! Especially after a long day where Ras has not seen you. Don’t be surprised if Ras sits next to you while you cook dinner!
Ras is litter box trained and has never “done his business” outside the litter box. He uses crystals as litter, although he has also used pellets in the past. His litter box needs to be cleaned once a day, although you can do it every 2 days on a stretch.
Ras eats twice a day; a mixture of 1/8 a cup of dry food [IAMS Proactive Health] + a 2 oz. of wet food. [Fancy Feast, preferably gravy] He is okay with eating only dry food, but he will need his water bowl to be refilled during the day as he drinks more water when eating only dry food.
I can trim his nails at home with the help of a lick-able treat, and I do that once a month. He is also okay with being brushed, but it’s not that he will ask for that.
Ras is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is FIV+, but he is a healthy, active, and loving cat!
Ras has found a home.
