About Grover | |
|
|
Grover is part of a bonded pair of kitties with Fiki ( see his profile).
Owners are reluctantly having to re-home these two kitties due to Newborn Baby allergies. The kitties are both wonderful pets and very easygoing. They would not be trying to re-home if it were not for their new child.
Two cats both have been together all their lives and are indoor cats have current vacations & are neutered. They were adopted together from a shelter in Miami Florida around 2012-2013 by some friends and they were brought to Boston for school.
At the time my friends had a child and were not able to care for them so I adopted them and they have lived with me since then. They have moved with me across the Country from New York, Colorado, to now California. They have traveled in soft carries in cars & in airplanes and do well but don't like it. I have never had to give them any medication for them to be able to travel well. They have gone outside occasionally on a patio but don't really have the desire to be outside (won't run out the door when open just look and sniff).
Both are strictly litter box trained and sleep on their cat beds. Will include an auto dry food pet feeder, 2 cat beds, 2 soft pet carriers, toys & 2 scratchers with top entry litter box if wanted. In addition to all the food & cat litter we have for them.
On occasion I have caught them jumping up on the counters or tables and I train them with a water squirting spray bottle so they don't normally climb on anything unless you leave food out unattended and they are hungry. I brush and trim their claws once a week & give them a bath 1-2 times a year. I have never had an issue with them clawing furnishings like past cats I have had as long as they have a scratch pad. No issues with pee outside the litter box as long as the box is cleaned once a day. They share a box with no issues.
Very mild tempered and easy going cats. They get a little frisky & "zoomies "in the evening after dinner on occasion but overall are lazy and very chill easy going cats. On occasion they will fight a bit over sleeping spots but for the most part they snuggle with each other and do their own thing. They both are scared of dogs and will hide. They both get along with other cats just take a day or two to warm up to them. We have fostered a few cats in the past and had no issues. They get along with all kinds of people but take a few days to adjust to new people. They have never scratched or bit anyone they usually just hide when scared.
Grover 9 lbs - Grey and White spotted cat with medium hair. Healthy with no medical issues.Very sweet and a little shy and skittish until he warms up to you usually takes a few days. He eats slower when it comes to dry food but he will scarf down wet food or any fresh meat given to him. He will play with laser beams & sun rays. Likes to pounce at toys and "hut" them. Enjoys looking out the window at birds and squirrels and will meow at them. He will catch bugs or insects and eat them if found. He likes to cuddle and is also happy sleeping on his cat bed or a chair alone. He will lick and give Fiki baths & cuddles. Scared of paper sounds & plastic bag sounds. Enjoys cuddles when he approaches you, likes to be pet and brushed. Likes a friendly sounding voice and being told he's a good boy. Can be picked up. Not aggressive, extremely docile demeanor. When we give him the annual bath he doesn't recognize his brother for a day because of the smell. He is afraid of having a bell on his collar and will try to run away from it. Grover has been to the vet once for stitches about 6 years ago my mothers dog at the time bit his paw, hes total fine now but is really afraid of dogs. He has one corner on his left ear clipped, he was adopted as a kitten with this and not sure what this is from.
Fiki (Alpha) 11 lbs - Black & white Male tuxedo cat, with short hair. Healthy with no medical issues. He loves attention and is very curious about everything. He loves food and likes to eat his food fast. I have caught him a handful of times eating bread, cake, & pizza when left out. He will keep eating if you leave food out & take any extra food left from Grover so we use the auto pet feeder to time out the feedings in small portions thru the day to help him, when he would overeat in the past he would eat until he would throw up . Likes to sunbathe & hide under the bed and in dark places like a closet. He likes to play with cardboard boxes & paper bags. He will sit on papers & plastic bags. Will cuddle with you if you allow him and will sleep at your feet if you allow him. He will also sleep on his cat bed or a chair. He likes attention and likes to be near you. Will play with catnip toys on occasion and will try to "fetch" the toys if in the mood. Enjoy's lying near a window and sunbathing. Very lazy most of the day, but can be motivated to exercise with treats. Scared of the vacuum & aluminum foil noise.
Owner can arrange delivery in pet Carriers in the Bay Area, Southern Cal, Texas, or Colorado
