About Gilbert | |
Gilbert and Polly came to us after their elderly mom passed away and nobody in the family would take them, and they were planning to euthanize them. Instead, we took them in and are currently fostering them. However, we already have two cats and do not have the capacity to care for all four cats long term, so are looking into possible options.
Gilbert is a sweet, quiet, slow-moving kitty with sad eyes. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, and has recently had a complete veterinary workup, during which he was diagnosed with early stage kidney failure. He is on a k/d diet (dry & wet), but requires no other special care. This old gentleman is not great at grooming himself, so it is best if his long hair is brushed often. He used to be an indoor/outdoor cat and roam around the neighborhood, so he would enjoy access to a safe, enclosed garden space.
They are both good litter box users and have no behavioral issues. They both are fine with being picked up and held, and they are both affectionate. Both Gilbert and Polly lived with a small dog the past three years, but we are not sure how well they got along. Although Gilbert and Polly have lived together all their lives, they are not super bonded, so it is not imperative that they stay together, but they are the only family they have left.
