Tasha, a spayed, somewhat senior cat is looking for a new home. Her Dad cat, because of work, has to move several states away from California, a distance too far to take her with him.

She originally had 3 brothers, all identical to their mum, an orange and white striped gal, complete with matching white feet and underside.  Tasha, being the only girl, thus decided to be a brown, grey, and black striped model, with a touch of orange on the top of her head between her ears.

An indoor cat only, along with one of her brothers who was adopted at the same time, for several years lived in Oak Park, in a quiet apartment complex along with her Mom cat and Dad cat. After moving to the Silicon Valley area in 2013, she had to say goodbye to her brother, who went over the Rainbow Bridge in 2015, due to a large cancerous tumor. It took her some time to get used to being in an only cat household, but she has adapted, again always indoors, not even going out onto a balcony or patio. Whether or not she would adapt to another cat or two is not known. Since she never went outside, she has never worn a collar, ever needed flea treatments, nor had any flea preps applied.

Her Mom cat passed away in early 2019, so she has been living with just her Dad cat since then. Only with the last year of the covid 19 situation has she gotten used to having Dad cat around, finally letting him pick her up and almost immediately putting her back down. She does like to be brushed and will let everyone know when she wants a brushing. She has never liked being combed nor being bathed, and nail trimming is something she never gets (scratching posts take care of that).

She has only been brought up on wet food, and like all cats, is finicky. Pate is not a favorite, but maybe once a week it will work. Mostly, it is shredded chicken, tuna, salmon, chicken livers, and sometimes ground lamb. The brands she has been used to for a long time, which are currently bought at Pet Food Express, are RAWZ, Weruva, and Wellness. She has never really liked any of the mass brands, like Nine Lives or Purina Fancy Feast. The only form of dry food she has ever known is the Greenies cat treats, which have kept her teeth in good shape (never any cavities, never any pulled), or freeze dried chicken hearts cut up, chicken, and salmon. The Greenies she prefers are the chicken, salmon, and tuna, but not the catnip ones.

She sleeps most of the day and night, but spends some waking time, whenever that may be, wherever Dad cat is at the time. Her routine, after waking up, is to find Dad cat, find her food bowl, maybe have something to eat, get on the couch, letting Dad cat scratch her for an undetermined few minutes, then back to her heated bed, cat condo, or some dark place in the apartment. BTW, this getting on the couch is as close as Tasha has ever gotten to anyone and it has only begun in the last year.

Another unusual action she engages in is letting you know when she has left something in the litterbox. She has never taken to burying her poop, so if her meowing is ignored, the smell will eventually be noticed.

ONLY if you are serious about providing her a new home should you call. Most of the time, Dad cat is tutoring, so leave a message with your phone number and a good time to call when you contact us. Located between the City College of San Jose and Willow Glen.

IF you do adopt her, she will be bringing her heated bed, a plug in heating pad, a large wicker basket she also sleeps in, a cat carrier, several weeks of canned food and Greenies cat treats, green waste bags for the litter box, a covered litter box, sturdy metal scoop, and her preferred litter, World’s Best (usually bought in a 28lb bag, which lasts 2 months).  There are also several cat blankies, food and water bowls, and a few toys she still plays with thrown in.

The included picture give you an idea what she looks like. This was taken when she was not aware of being photographed.

Thank you.
