Sammy was adopted as requested by our 8 year old daughter as a way to bring in a senior cat into our lives 5 years ago.  Sammy slept with our daughter every night and is loving and loves to sit on laps for pet sessions in which he will purr up a storm.

Sammy has been indoor only and has lived with dogs since coming into our house. Unfortunately the senior Yorkie has become aggressive towards Sammy which has raised his anxiety level and created an untenable place for Sammy to thrive.

It is with sadness that we must rehome Sammy.  He needs a home with no other pets where he is pet focal point.  Older kids are ok as long as they can pay attention to Sammy.  An ideal living situation is with an older person or two who can dedicate a lot of time to be with Sammy as he can sit on your lap for hours at a time.  Sammy can be picked up, though he does not like to be held for too long.  We love Sammy, but as mentioned, he cannot thrive with our little senior dog Darla any longer.  Sammy is about 9 pounds, a grey tabby and sleeps much of the day.

Sammy  has tummy issues in which he is very picky about his food, and after many different attempts at feeding him dry food found at the veterinarian,  we find his preference is to eat simple dry cat food that is found at the grocery store with augmented wet food from Pet Food express.  Sammy does have anxiety when left alone for too long and through the past 5 years we have given him anxiety pills to help when we left home for overnight trips, but the meds make him feel terrible so the one good thing the pandemic has done, it has allowed him to be home with someone all of the time.  Sammy’s tummy issues do make it necessary to clean his catbox twice daily.

Sammy has found a new home.
