Hi there! My name is Alexa and I am a gorgeous, chirpy, all-black cat with huge green eyes! I am an excellent house panther. I enjoy staring you down (and chirping at you) from the top of my cat tree and finding sunspots to fall asleep in. I really like a nice window with a view of birds and squirrels. 

 

I love attention, but it has to be on my terms. Sometimes I become over stimulated if you pet me too much all at once. That said, if you follow my lead and give me space, I will happily greet you by rubbing up against your leg. I also like to take little afternoon power naps on your lap. 

 

I don't mean to brag, but I'm kind of the world's best roommate. I'm interactive, chatty, and I keep you company, but I'm not up in your business all the time, and I'm super clean and great at using the litter box. I'm the type of cat who likes to hang out with you while you're working on your computer or watching a movie, but then I'll let you do your own thing. I'm not really needy.

 

So the thing about me is you're going to have to earn my trust. I have had a bad year, and new people kind of scare me. Sometimes I'll even hiss out of fear. Sometimes other cats scare me, but if they're nice I get used to them quickly. Once I get comfortable I have a ton of personality and I get really bonded to people I learn to trust.

 

I'm just hoping for a nice, peaceful home with experienced cat owners who will give me the time and space I need to come out of my shell

btw- i have gotten to be a pro with the laser pointer
