About smokey | |

|
Smokey and Opal are very active siblings who both seek out interaction with their foster. Smokey
taps his foster on the leg and lets out a little whimper for “let’s play”; Opal rises from her carpet
tree and a little more emphatically vocalizes a series of squeaks that do not let up until she has
your attention. Typically, both enjoy time resting, but they also have very physical times of day in
the morning and early evening chasing the Go Cat Feather and each other around the room. Even
with their specific health issues with a little lack of coordination and hind quarter weakness, they
both go crazy and love to run, jump, and crash into the nylon cubes and tunnels in pursuit of the
elusive feather-sometimes seemingly trying to out chase or jump or out land each other on the
nylon pillows. Smokey and Opal start the day with pets and snuggling with their foster, before
jumping down and looking for action.
*** need to be adopted as a pair***
both kittens" twitch" esp when asleep . They were seen be a neurologist and this is her report:
from sage neurology
there is no indication that they do not have a good quality of life at this time and also that there is no evidence of any condition that would be spread to other animals in a household. I am sorry that I cannot provide more definitive predictions with respect to longevity, but I hope that this helps.
smokey and opal are being returned to us because the resident cat is not happy having them around!. Their adopter has worked on this issue for a year with things only getting worse between them. They had a recent vet visit or their 1 year old birthday and that vet gave the same interpretation of their condition
Smokey is a one year old short haired grey embodiment of gentility. He is quick to purr the moment he sees you and a quiet companion during long remote working sessions. He is content to keep watch over the neighborhood from his window perch when he is not busy playing with his feather toys (or swinging from the shower curtain rod). While he does not always stick the landing his vertical jump could land him a spot in the NBA. He loves his sister (The Notorious RBG) and watching them play together is delightful.
